Professional Learning Opportunities cover topics such as Special Education, Substance Abuse Awareness, Issues Students Face, Gifted and Talented, Differentiated Instruction, Collaborative Teaching, and Health and PE as well as several others related to specific content areas or student groups. Some courses award CPE, Teacher Choice, and/or Gifted & Talented credit.
Required online training modules cover topics such as Sexual Harassment Awareness, PDAS Commissioner's Rules, STAAR testing procedures, Interview Procedures, and ARD Designee are available.

Another source of online professional learning opportunities are the courses available through United Star Distance Learning Consortium (USDLC).
While online courses are primarily available to Classroom Teachers, an Instructional Assistant is welcome to take an online course with the permission of his or her Principal and a completed Staff Development Approval Form. Please be aware that no additional compensation will be provided or compensatory time accumulated since this activity is not a mandatory aspect of the job but strictly a voluntary decision made by the employee occupying an Instructional Assistant position or similar kindred non-exempt position. In addition, online courses can only be taken outside the work day and not during work hours in order to avoid causing any campus operational disruptions.
